Magnolia's galore and Japanese Cherries were on top form., the hits of pink and white amongst the green arena were stunning. Lovely groupings of both set amongst grand coniferous trees aside amply spacious.drives.
Japanese Maples and a host of other unusual and rare trees were gradually unfurling their spring wardrobe, many to be giving their parade of honour in later months.
I liked this place, as the broad walks / drives lessened the sense of plant intensity..one could have views , both in the Arboretum as well as out to the landscape beyond. Many of the trees are quite unusual so give interest to the plantsman, and thankfully most of them are well labelled albeit discreetly.
Other gardens in this Cotswold neighbourhood include Sezincote and Bourton House,as well as Snowshill Lavender Farm for a sharp intake of fragrant breath as one admires the rows of blossom raked over the landscape..awesome !
